You have to love a baseball player whose name is an anagram for "homers" and that's exactly what Eric Hosmer did tonight in Yankee Stadium.
I can only imagine what a thrill it must have been for him to get his first major league home run in the state he grew up in. And, to have his family on hand to witness it firsthand had to make it that much sweeter.
The solo shot (which seems to be a common trend for all of the Royals home runs this year) got the team on the board and then Hosmer drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the 11th inning.
I'm really looking forward to seeing him play here at home and watching him continue this production in person.
After two games in the Bronx, the Royals are 1-1 on this road trip...I have to say I'm very happy with that.
